Are YOU Mom Enough? TIME mag controversy. I am. Not what they think though.

This is a crafty blog, I know, but I do stray when I feel the need. Have you had the unfortunate experience of looking at (or actually reading... I haven't and won't) the Time cover article? Wondering what you think. If you have a look at The Dose of Reality she feels like I do. And this comment is EXACTLY how I feel~

Erin said:
I have always believed that all moms are great moms–whether they work, stay home, have one kid or five kids, adopt, delivery vaginally or via c section, bottle feed or breast feed, etc etc. as long as they are trying their damndest “to (raise) upstanding, productive members of society who don’t suck.” Like one of your amazing recent columns pointed out, why are we as moms so judgemental and critical of other moms?!? We are all working towards a common goal so why do we have to be so hateful towards one another?!?
So thank you Time Magazine, for driving the knife in alittle deeper. Please make those women who can’t or don’t want to breast feed, for whatever reason, feel like completely crappy moms. And make those who did what they could to nurse their child for one week, one month, one year feel inadequate that they did not continue to nurse them until they are driving themselves to school. Maybe the article is not solely about breast feeding (I won’t ever know because I won’t buy the magazine…EVER) but is about how those moms who are “attached” to their kids are better moms. “Are you mom enough” if you are more “attached” to your kid?!?
ARE YOU MOM ENOUGH?!? Whoever came up with that should be fired. Tomorrow.

I know for a damn fact I AM mom enough. For a thousand reasons more than Time thinks I should be. I also don't need to list them, come up with excuses, or even my intentions. All because I am mom enough. Time, I'm not linking to you, you don't deserve it.

Happy Mother's Day ladies! Regardless of your parenting style, work situation, beliefs and the 1000s of things Mom's can be judged on, I just wish you a day of happiness all about you!

The Paper Bakery April Sketch #1 plus some kits!

Hey all! Definitely last minute but I have my take on The Paper Bakery's April Sketch #1 done! I used the leftovers from my March Kit with the only addition of... never mind, I thought I added stick pins but those went on the kit project itself haha! Hope you will have a peek at that and 2 other kit projects below :)

The sketch is HERE <--- click me!

And my take-

The colors look a bit off, it's cold and snowy (YES! MORE SNOW... *insert which-ever-not-appropriate-word-to-scream-in-public-word here*) and just not a very nice day so I'll retake this on another *sunny* day! Thanks for stopping by as always! :)

These are a few of my fave kits from The Paper Bakery. I've been subscribed since November and have no intention of stopping anytime soon! Sarah comes up with the BEST projects and there is always more than enough to get a page or more after the kit itself is done. Love love love it!

This was the March Kit. I used it as part of the Small's Easter basket. It is full of pics of her favorite things right now.

And January! Another one for the Small. It has a pic from each month of her 1st year. I love having a mini to look through with those pics. It's amazing how fast they grow and turn into little people!

This one from Feb has probably been the most fun to do of all the kits. Don't get me wrong I do love them all, there is a reason I haven't skipped any ;) But I LOVE to be messy haha!

There you have it! Off to work on a little Echo Park goodness while watching my PVR'd Titanic documentary marathon. Let me know what you think, your comments make me as happy as mommy happy hour on days like today :D

I would love if you could spare me a vote as well :)

Check out this recipe from Scentsy’s County Fair. While you’re there, “cook up” a recipe of your own!

Supply Move and Page Kits = DONE!

*Check out the bottom of this post for a great giveaway over at Distress to Impress!!!*

It's done!! The page kits (well paper and pics matched up.. not really kits) are done and the move out of the closet is done! It only took almost 2 weeks...

I would show you what my island and kitchen table looked like after everything came out of the closet but I failed to read the little warning on my camera. "No Memory Card" Memory cards help when trying to take pics apparently. ;)

I can show you what it looks like all stacked up on my little mail table though :)

Ignore the bin under the table... I got bored of the moving process haha. This isn't all of my crafty stuff. Just the paper crafting. All of my yarns/needles and beading supplies are still in the walk-in closet. I'm probably going to put my ribbon back in there as well. Smalls, cats & dogs love it more than I do I think!

Also missing are the "kits". I have them on yet another floor of my house in a giant stack. Why, you ask, do I have everything spaced out over 3 of the 4 floors of the house? I haven't a clue. I don't like questions like that :P

Keep in mind a little fact before I show you how the page kit sort went. It's hard to see but in the above pic there are 2 black and white cropper hopper paper storage units? Each one can hold up to 900 sheets of 12x12 paper. I have 2... They are full and don't include what I'm about to show you.

Do you think I have a problem yet? I'm pretty sure Husband thinks I do..

This is JUST pics/pages of the Small. It equals *drum roll please*

***65 pages
***3 minis
***1 shadow box
***1 printer tray

This doesn't include every random pic I have printed of friends/family/cats/dog/trips/honeymoon. It's JUST pics of the small and I still have folders upon folders strictly of her ready to print.

Now do you think I have a problem?

Happy Sunday!

Working on Page Kits plus a Supply Move!

Hey all!

I've decided to move my crafty storage AGAIN! OMG, I need to stop doing that! Since I lost my room 1.5 years ago I have moved everything at least 15 times. All over the house, back into rooms it was in, on 3 of the 4 floors we have, and so on. It's getting ridiculous.

This *was* my space after I lost my room but then the main computer had no where to live so the hide & seek the craft supplies game began. Right now everything is in my walk-in closet and that is a total PITA. Plus the husband has no where to put his clothes muaha ;)

I'm going to start the move tonight. During the process I am going to go through all the pics I have printed, the ones ready to print and match it all up with supplies in zip-locks. I *need* to do this ASAP. Now that we have decided we would like another small one immediately (yep, you read that right... ready to do it all again!) I need to get this under control. I hope I am right in thinking I will get a hell of a lot more done if it is there and ready to go.

Most of you know I buy and scrap mostly by collection, tossing in other embellies as needed, so everything is pretty well sorted. All of my paper is stashed by manufacturer and then collection along with any embellishments I bought for it. Everything else is sorted by type (metal, fabric, buttons, etc.)

I'll be taking pics of the process (except my closet.. no one needs to see that disaster) as I go and get them up here as long as I don't lose my mind in the meanwhile ;)

Wish me luck and leave me a comment if you have done this/do this/have any tips!

Talk soon!

The Small is on Etsy! Plus the Liebster Awards!

Hey all! We are all finally feeling better after a 2 week run with some sort of head/chest/feel-like-you-have-been-hit-by-a-bus-93-times kind of cold. It sucked basically. But we are better and that is what matters to me!

The small had a GREAT birthday, lots of family & friends, a giant bouncy course, and yummy food! I can't wait to finally get to scrapping the pics (hopefully tonight!)! She is the cutest 1 year old I personally have met (IMHO of course haha)!

If any of you have birthdays coming up for your smalls or just want to shop for cute things please stop over at Nicole's Esty shop SNUGGLEBUG BABY BOUTIQUE. She is AMAZING. The dress was too adorable for words and her customer service is above and beyond!

So here is my little model in her birthday dress! Thanks, Nicole, for putting her up in your shop!

More to come with projects done for the Small's birthday!
